Partners Bistro is a favorite place of mine. It isn’t far from my home in Laguna Beach. I am originally from New Orleans and Partners is a little taste of the French Quarter for me. The band that frequents this restaurant plays a lot of jazz and blues. The trumpet player is from Shreveport, LA. Close enough! There is also a little alley way to the left of the restaurant and it has an ole French Quarter feel, or for those who have not made it to New Orleans, a European feel. Located in the alley is a Gelato and Chocolate store to satisfy your sweet tooth.
The only negative mark I have for Partners Bistro is the wine list. The wine list is average because there isn’t a great variety; mostly big California wines.
Tracy and I usually start off dinner with their famous Alaine’s salad. This isn’t much of a salad if you are expecting lettuce. It is made with a variety of cherry tomatoes and shrimp topped with cilantro and a wonderful sour cream sauce. We have been trying to crack the secret recipe on this one for months. For the main course I would recommend, if they are serving it, is the buffalo fillet. It is very rich and juicy.

All in all Partners Bistro is the jack of all trades. From the atmosphere to the deserts, you may not find yourself saying, “this is the most succulent halibut I have ever tasted” but you will leave saying, “that really hit the spot.” Where Partners stands out among the rest is with consistency. There is something special in consistency and Partners has been very consistent since we began dining here over two years ago. Don’t be afraid to try it all but if you want something better than usual, stick to their specialties. Like the homemade shredded pasta, shrimp or the lamb.
Our waitress Emily usually serves us and she is a lot of fun. So ask for Emily and tell her we sent you.
I give this restaurant, “A job well done.” You will love it!
